A Master, The Master

When filling out a resume you will be required to write in your educational background. What are your qualifications for the position you are applying? The more qualified you are, the better chance you have of landing the job. Many people spend a large amount of time and money to earn a degree, whether it be an Associate, Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree.

The world's system requires us to have these degrees in order to attain a certain status. To prove we are capable and qualified to be successful.

However, in the Kingdom of God, we are not required to have a Master's to know the Master.

Praise the Lord!

In fact, during the ministry of Jesus here on earth, we see that He did not choose the most "qualified" people to follow Him. He didn't go after the educated or influential. He gathered fishermen, tax collectors, and even a thief and betrayer. The people with the "proper pedigree's" went crazy trying to understand and make sense of why this Rabbi, Jesus, would allow such an unqualified group of people into His midst. At times, they were horrified to see whom Jesus would engage and connect with. In their eyes, it made no sense and they challenged His discernment.

I don't know about you, but I am so thankful there are no special requirements or education I must have in order to know my Master, Jesus! Even when I feel "less than", I know that He is more than enough. My status is not dependent on anything other than the finished work of Christ on the cross.

We do not need a seminary degree to understand or know the things of God. We have the Holy Spirit to be our teacher.

John 14:26

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

Even a fisherman like Peter was given divine revelation to whom Jesus was and is.

Matthew 16:15-17

He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Simon Peter replied, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." And Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.

As we read and study the Word of God, we must pray for our spiritual eyes to be opened. Not to see things from a human perspective, but a spiritual one. God's Word can be illuminated in such a way that it will penetrate even to the dividing of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. (Hebrews 4:12)

Let nothing stand in the way of you knowing your Master. As you press into Him, He has a way of taking our "average" and making it astounding. He reveals His character and displays His glory. There is no higher standard we can try and attain to know Him more. If anything, we should bow low before our Master, in humble worship, thanking Him for choosing us to be His sons and daughters.

No experience necessary!

All are encouraged to apply!
